Tomato Herb Dressing

Tomato season has entered the chat! 

August is prime summer tomato season. If you're swimming in fresh tomatoes or take advantage of your local farmer's market haul, try this tomato dressing that simply highlight's the season’s prized produce: tomatoes, and basil! Dijon mustard and red pepper flakes add brightness and balance to this versatile, delicious dressing.

Intimidated by dressing from scratch? Don’t be! This recipe is especially easy; once all ingredients are assembled, we put all the work to the blender! Make this seasonal dressing to bring your salad to the next level or leverage it as a delicious marinade for tofu, salmon, poultry or pork.

Tomato Herb Dressing

Serving Size: 1 fl oz | Makes: 8 servings


2/3 c. tomatoes, fresh, diced
1/4 c. red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. Dijon mustard
2 1/2 tsp. tomato paste
1/4 c. extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp. salt
Pinch of black pepper
Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
2 1/2 tsp. fresh basil, chopped



  1. In a blender, combine tomatoes, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, tomato paste, crushed red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
  2. While blender is running, drizzle in olive oil until emulsified.
  3. Stir in basil.
