2023 Entrepreneurial Council Year in Review

Each year FLIK's Entrepreneurial Council provides a detailed update on their current progress toward helping FLIK advance toward being a more equitable organization.

In addition to the work as an executive advisory council, the EC also collaborates with the marketing and culinary departments and with our Diversity Inclusion Action Council to ensure creative programming is in place for relevant heritage months and holidays.

This February celebrated Black History Month through Black Liberation. Taking this year's global theme of Black Resistance, a refusal to comply or accept the status quo, we found a blossoming of understanding so profound that it leads to transformation – and ultimately liberation. We focused on how to honor individual liberation practices, celebrating Black Liberation through food, community, music, and literature – and what makes you feel free to be you.

For Hispanic Heritage Month, honored the legacy of Jerry Reveron, an Executive Chef with FLIK Independent School Dining and a part of the Compass Group family for majority of his career. In addition to highlighting his recipes and menus, FLIK announced the Jerry Reveron Scholarship -- an annual scholarship for FLIK Hospitality Group culinary associates to use for continued education support.
