Chocolate Covered Strawberries

8 Ways to Celebrate Chocolate Lovers Month

February is National Chocolate Lover's Month and while Valentine's Day may have passed, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy a bite of something delicious and chocolatey for the rest of the month and frankly, all-year-round.

When choosing your chocolate to snack on, try to opt for a good quality dark chocolate with 70-85% cocoa content. Dark chocolate is rich in fiber (for healthy digestion), iron and copper (for making and circulating blood cells), magnesium (for healthy bones and proper metabolism). The high antioxidant content in dark chocolate may also drastically reduce the risk of heart disease.

Here are 8 delicious ways to enjoy chocolate this month (and next month, and the month after that).

Chocolate Dipped Oranges

When You Dip, I Dip, We Dip

Chocolate Dipped Fruit, especially when compared to other desserts, is low in calories, sugar, and saturated fats. They also have the benefit of added fiber (keep the skin on your fruits when able!) and vitamins and minerals.

It’s no coincidence that Valentine’s Day falls during National Heart Awareness Month. Let’s take care of our hearts – anatomical and emotional – with Dark Chocolate Dipped Fruit.

For the family who loves a good hummus, try this Chocolate Hummus! Full of fiber and protein from the garbanzo beans and sweetened with ingredients like maple syrup and real vanilla, this hummus is the perfect partner for strawberries, apples, oranges, and even graham crackers.

Chocolate For Breakfast

Chocolate isn't just for dessert. Try our Cocoa Banana Overnight Oats to satisfy your sweet tooth without overdoing the sugar.

Chocolate Olive Oil Cake 2

Let Them Eat Cake

If you're a fan of chocolate cake, let us take you on a delicious adventure with our not one, but TWO, foolproof recipes for chocolate cake.

If you want something rich that feels a little naughty, our Chocolate Olive Oil Cake is calling your name. Rich and indulgent, this cake is made with high-quality cocoa which is rich in polyphenols and flavanols, antioxidants that may help to lower your risk of chronic disease.

If you want something a little lighter, you can't go wrong with Chocolate Angel Food Cake, Fresh Berries. Light and spongey, this cake is made with whipped egg whites for a less-guilty dessert.

Chocolate Chia Avocado Dessert

Delicious Desserts

An excellent dessert for the whole family, this Chocolate Chia Avocado Pudding is extra creamy thanks to the avocado base. Add in the chia seeds to extra texture, with the added benefit of a digestion aid and blood sugar control.

One of our most popular recipes in 2020 was our Flourless Chocolate Brownie Cookies. Similar to a flourless chocolate cake, forgoing flour gives these cookies a dense, fudgy, uber-indulgent texture. On top of that, they're quick and easy to make. Give them a try and you may never make conventional cookies again!
