National Nutrition Month: Meet the RDs, Part 4

It's the fourth edition of our National Nutrition Month series where we're meeting all of FLIK's amazing team of dietitians. If you've missed previous posts, check them out here:

Let's meet today's RDs!

Kelly Melnik, MS, RD
- New York / Connecticut
4A Kelly

Favorite FLIK Dish: Working on-site gives me the opportunity to try all of FLIK’s amazing dishes, every day! My current obsession are the FLIK Homemade Flourless Chocolate Brownie Cookies.

Wellness Tip: Don’t stress over wellness! Having a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be strict, rigid, and boring. In fact, it’s a lot easier to stick to a routine you actually enjoy. This means eating foods you like and finding exercises that make you feel good. There’s no "one size fits all approach" to nutrition and wellness and it’s important to find a lifestyle that is tailored to you and your interests!

Working Woman Tip: Keep self-care a priority. You don’t need a lot of free time to engage in self-care. Setting up a simple and efficient morning and nighttime routine helps set the tone for your day and wind-down at night. These small habits might seem mundane and insignificant but over time serve as a space to reset and reenergize!

Sandy Koehler, RDN, LDN
- DC Metro, Georgia, Colorado
4B Sandy

First Job: Snack stand attendant at Brown University

Favorite FLIK Dish: Chicken Salad on toasted raisin bread, it is just that good!

Wellness Tip: Eat the cookie. Food nourishes us, but self-deprivation can leave you not only hangry, but wanting more. By focusing your energy more on balanced meals, regular exercise, and self-care, you just might be surprised how you feel.

Working Woman Tip: Find what makes you happy and a career that is rewarding, but also provides you with balance and joy outside of work because that life outside is even more important.

If you're ready for spring sips, make this delicious Matcha Lemonade with Sandy!

Nicole Feneli, RD, CSSD
- FLIK Hospitality Group
4C Nicole

First Job: My love of working with food started with my very first job in high school working at Wendy’s. I have worked with food ever since.

Favorite FLIK Dish: Action stations!!

Wellness Tip: Set realistic goals for short amounts of time. Once you know you can achieve a goal (even a small one) you are more likely to keep it going and add on.

Working Woman Tip: Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone’s situation is different and what works for some does not work for all.

Nicole loves being in the kitchen with her two sous chef daughters. Check our YouTube channel to see them in action!
